You’re warm. Warm, and content. The rhythmic ticking of a clock beats in time with your heart as you exhale deeply, hands tugging the blankets to your chin. The comforting weight of smooth silk upon bare skin is still somewhat alien – but you’re slowly growing used to it. Almost, but not quite just yet, the days when you were never bereft of layers upon layers of clothes was slowly fading into nothing but a memory.

And it’s all because of her.

The friend (much more than a friend now, you remind yourself in wonder) who never gave up on you. Who you loved, and who loved you back. Who now slumbers quietly beside you, mind still captured by the touch of pleasant dreams.
